India A team is in Group B with Pakistan A, Oman and the UAE. Group A comprises Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A and Hong Kong China.
The ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, which will be held in Al Amarat, Oman from October 18 to 26, will showcase some of the top up-and-coming cricket players.
The ‘A’ teams from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will compete in the tournament with their regular teams from the UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.
The eight teams will compete against one another in a round-robin fashion after being split into two groups of four teams each. Each group’s top two teams will move on to the semifinals.
Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, and Hong Kong China are in Group A, while India A is in Group B with Pakistan A, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. The Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Al Amarat will host all of the games.
In a much-anticipated rematch of the 2023 final, defending champions Pakistan A, also known as the Pakistan Shaheens, took on India A on Saturday. India prevailed by seven runs.
The ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup is being played in the T20 format for the first time, despite the fact that it is the sixth edition of the Asian cricket showcase. The 50-over format was used in each of the five prior events.
Sri Lanka won the next two tournaments in 2017 and 2018, whereas India won the first one in 2013. Pakistan Shaheens won the two most recent tournaments, which were held in 2019 and 2023.
In the previous year’s final at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pakistan A defeated India A by 128 runs to win the trophy.
The semi-finals are set for October 25 and the final for October 26. The group stage matches will take place from October 18 to October 23.
