Prescott and Hutchinson collided and as Prescott pulled him down, Hutchinson’s ankle appeared to collide with teammate Alum McNeill’s left leg. It was later revealed that Hutchinson had sustained a broken tibia, also known as the shin bone.
The injury was so egregious that Fox, which broadcast the game, refused to show replays of the incident.
Jeff Mueller, a physical therapist and field football injury researcher, posted a clip of the video on X, formerly known as Twitter. At the time of writing, the video already has 6.8 million views.
After watching Mueller’s video, one social media user said: “This is an insane way to kick your ass. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it.”

For Hutchinson, it was a big game at the end of what was a difficult season. At the time of his injury, the Lions were winning 34-6.

After recovering from the injury, Hutchinson was ruled out of the game for the remainder of the season.
